10 NATURAL WAYS TO COMBAT ZITS
How to get rid of zits? 10 Natural ways

Zits. Just the word is enough to send shivers down the spine of every girl and woman on the planet. We’ve all been there, of course: We’ve all woken up on a day when we’ve got really something important to due such as GET MARRIED, checked the mirror, and frozen in our tracks as we spot a horrible little (massive) red imp protruding on the end of our nose, doing a little dance and waving its pitchfork around.

Although the familiar story goes that zits only appear when you’ve got something important coming up – such as your Prom – the truth is that they appear at any time. And when they make an appearance, boy, can they mess with your confidence!
So what works? Well, actually there are 10 very awesome and very natural ways to combat zits that may just change your life. Let’s take a look!

Cut Back On Your Prescriptions
First of all, if you have any prescriptions that you’ve been using to treat your zits, you need to cut back on them.
When I had my first major breakout at university, I pretty much bought the whole store so that I could double down on my acne. My medicine cabinet was bursting with acne cream. I applied these creams topically every hour of day, assuming that attacking zits as though I was in a war with them would work.
It didn’t and it won’t. Ever.
What happened was my skin became even more inflamed and irritable.
If you go ultra aggressive with your prescription treatments, you could be making things worse. So, first things first – use your topical products every other day as opposed to every day. This way, you’re avoiding excessive drying.

Watch Your Diet
Another good tip on how to get rid of zits is to simply watch your diet. There has never been a truer phrase than “you are what you eat.”
Eating the wrong foods can wreak havoc on your body, and because your skin is your largest organ, havoc manifests itself in very noticeable symptoms – aka, zits!
From now on, you should stick to a diet that is rich in organic and natural foods. Avoid processed, pre-packaged meals and try to cram as many good fats into your weekly plan as possible.

Use An Exfoliating Mask
One of great tips on how to get rid of zits is to use an exfoliating mask. If you’ve got severe acne, it’s tempting to scream: “I’M NOT GOING ANYWHERE FOR A WHOLE YEAR!”
If, however, you need to go to work in order to survive, you might resort to a facial scrub.
Unfortunately, this is counterproductive and will actually irritate your zits and spread bacteria. Not cool, huh?
Instead, you should apply a natural exfoliating mask that is kinder to your skin and doesn’t spread bacteria. It also unclogs pours and slays dead skin cells.

Use Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has so many health benefits that we don’t have enough room to mention them all. And because it contains anti fungal and antibacterial properties, it is also excellent at moisturising your skin and reducing redness. Indeed, it is a fantastically natural replacement for moisturising cream.
Simply apply coconut oil to your skin at least twice a day to eliminate pesky zits that are knocking your confidence.

Try Lemon Juice
Another tip on how to get rid of zits is to use lemon juice. Lemon juice is great to drink first thing in the morning because it flushes toxins out of your system. You can also apply lemon juice to your skin (aiming only at your problem areas) each morning before leaving it for five or ten minutes in bid to eliminate acne.

Don’t Touch Your Zits!
When I was a teenager, my mom always told me not to pick my zits. I must admit that I was a picker. I couldn’t stop!
My mom’s advice was sage, and once I stopped picking, my acne started to heal.
Unfortunately, my mom is like a lot of people; she’s good at telling others not to pick,  but is guilty of picking herself!
This is largely because we don’t even realise we’re picking a lot of the time. We watch a movie and we pick. We go on a date and we pick. We go to a funeral and we pick.
We’re just a bunch of unconscious pickers!
If this sounds like you, remind yourself each day “NOT TO TOUCH MY FACE”.
It works.

Ditch The Sugar
Next tip on how to get rid of zits is to ditch the sugar.
Sugar is bad for you, but you already knew that. It’s bad for your belly, your teeth and your overall health – including your skin.
Too much sugar causes a spike in your blood sugar levels, which sends your hormones all out of whack. What then happens is that your skin starts to develop those pesky zits.
You can still eat fruit, but try to stick to fruit that is rich in water, such as watermelons or apples.

Exercise
One of the reasons you’ve got acne in the first place, and one of the reasons why it just won’t go away is because your skin is not very moist. It’s like a desert!
What then happens is that you’re not detoxifying your skin. Instead, you’re letting all kinds of horrible toxins roam around and strut their stuff. In time, they create bad boys that are otherwise known as zits.
Exercise is a good way to sweat, and it is sweat that detoxifies your face.
When you exercise, you might also be encouraged to eat healthier too, which is a further bonus.

Egg Whites
Using egg whites is another good tip on how to get rid of zits. All you need to do is separate the egg white from the yolk before applying the egg white to your skin with a cotton ball or swab.
We recommend that you leave the mixture on your skin for at least 30 minutes. Pretty soon, your skin will be glowing like it used to again. Yay for eggs!

Water
The simplest and most natural remedy for zits is water.
Water is the most effective way of flushing toxins out of your system, and it is toxins that lead to acne. Each day, you should aim to drink at least 10 glasses of water, starting right away in the morning.
You could also boil water, place a towel over your head and breathe in the steam. This is another simple way of flushing out badness from your skin.
