10 Natural beauty tips for face that you will love
If you’ve tried every face-wash and fancy skin care product on the market, but that flawless look still eludes you, it might be time to go back to basics and take a look at some more natural solutions for your face. How healthy your skin looks is a good indication of how healthy you are on the inside and, while commercial skin care products can be useful, they could be simply hiding underlying problems rather than curing them. For truly soft and glowing skin, you need to care for your skin from the inside as well as from the outside. Here are ten basic natural beauty tips for your face that we know you will absolutely love.
1. Be careful what you eat
What you eat can make a huge difference to how your skin looks and you will be amazed at how quickly a change in your diet will show in your face. Cut down on processed foods and fast foods and fill your plate with fresh vegetables, fruits, and plenty of lean protein and not only will you feel better, you’ll love how clear and radiant your skin looks too.
2. Protect your skin from the sun
Your skin will certainly love you if you start to use sunscreen every day and, in a few years’ time, you will love that you did too. Look for sun protection that screens out both UVB rays and UVA, and that will help your skin stay youthful looking for longer. If you are worried about sunscreen causing breakouts, try brands that are labelled as being ‘noncomedogenic’ or ‘non-acnegenic’, as these are the ones that are less likely to block your pores.
3. Eat more healthy fats
Don’t avoid fats all together, because your skin needs them to be able to absorb vitamins and minerals and to stay healthy. The good fats, like omega-3 fatty acids, also help to fight inflammation, so increase the amount of oily fish you eat and things like avocados and nuts will help too.
4. Exercise more
It may seem strange to be talking about exercise as a way to improve your complexion, but it really does work. Regular exercise, like walking, running and working out in a gym, will improve the circulation of blood around your body and give your face a rosy glow. Exercise also makes you sweat and that will flush out some of the toxins from your body that can make your skin look dull and lifeless.
5. Always remove makeup before you go to bed
If there is one golden rule that should never be broken, then that would be to always remove all the last traces of makeup from your face before you go to bed. Your skin needs a chance to breathe at night and, if you don’t remove makeup, your pores will become blocked and bacteria can breed. If you don’t have any makeup remover to hand, just use some olive or coconut oil and some cotton wool.
6. Cleanse your skin with honey
There are literally thousands of skin cleansers on the market, but all you really need is pure honey. Raw honey does a wonderful job of cleaning the skin and it will also fight the bacteria that can cause breakouts too. Simply apply raw honey to your face and leave it on for about five minutes and then rinse it off again with lukewarm water.
7. Exfoliate once or twice a week
If you want to see your skin looking bright and clear, then you’ll need to regularly remove the dead skin cells by exfoliating once or twice a week. There are lots of natural products you can use to do this. Try using a mixture of plain yoghurt and walnut powder. That will exfoliate the skin and you’ll gain the benefit of the antioxidants in the walnut powder too.
8. Keep well hydrated
It’s amazing to think that something as simple as drinking water could have such a major impact on your face, but it’s true. If you are not drinking at least eight glasses of water a day, start today and see what a difference it makes to your complexion.
9. Use only natural products on your skin
Most of the skin creams and moisturisers on the market contain loads of chemicals, so treat your skin kindly and use natural products on your face. If you don’t like the idea of slathering mayonnaise or egg whites over your face, you can still buy commercial products that use only natural ingredients.
10. Get more sleep
If you don’t get enough sleep, your skin will start to sag and lose its elasticity. You’ll also get dark circles under your eyes and your complexion will lose its colour. Try to get eight hours of good sleep every night and don’t forget to prepare for bed by thoroughly cleansing your skin and moisturising it before you hit the sheets.
Stay beautiful!
