Why Homemade Sea Salt Hair Spray?

So, if you want those beach waves and don’t want to spend $31.00 on a sea spray bottle, you might want to learn how to make your own texturizing hair spray at home.

Homemade Sea Salt Spray For Hair

Here is our sea salt spray recipe, which you can make at home and store for around 3-4 months as well.
You Will Need:
  • Epsom salts (2 tbsp)
  • Aloe Vera gel (1 tsp)
  • Himalayan or Sea Salt (½ tsp)
  • Hot water (one cup)
  • Lavender or orange blossom or citrus essential oil (5 drops)
  • Hair conditioner ½ tsp (avoid using it if you have naturally oily or thin hair)
Optional: 1 cup of hot chamomile tea or black tea for the base. If you want to lighten your hair color, use chamomile tea. For darker shades, consider using black tea. However, you need to refrigerate the tea before you heat it.
Optional: lemon juice (1 tsp)
Optional: Vodka or alcohol (1tsp) for light colored hair.
How To:
  1. Find a spray bottle with a capacity of at least 10 ounces.
  2. Add the hot water (or tea) in the spray bottle.
  3. Add the sea salt, Epsom salts, Aloe Vera, conditioner (optional), essential oil (lavender/orange blossom/citrus) and lemon juice or vodka (optional).
  4. Shake the bottle well for around 2-5 minutes. Ensure that the Epsom salt and sea salt dissolve completely. If you are using lemon juice or a tea base, you need to refrigerate the mix.
  5. You can store the mix or use it immediately.
